Are Marketers Overthinking Marketing?


For merchants in the main or the head of marketing or a person who calls the marketing of their profession, I’ll bet my life that have you a million stories in the media and professional journals, one of the following are met (or something like it ):

1) Marketing today is incredibly complex and difficult than it was 10 and certainly 20 years ago.

2) Marketing is always because of how consumers are currently more than 10 or 20 years of fragmented useless.

3) The marketing has fundamentally changed because of technology, mobile devices and people who have only limited attention.

The first sentence I read in Forbes literally.

The second sentence I read literally in Direct Marketing News.

The third sentence I read in Advertising Age.

All three are very well-respected publications, and no wonder that marketers are pulling their hair. The sky is falling! We are less and less relevant! Holy cow, portable devices, the air blown our profession, and it has changed forever!

I say nothing. Marketing is not tactics, and use habits of consumers change. But no marketing.

Viral Marketing For Products and Services – Definition of Viral Marketing


Viral marketing has exploded onto the Internet scene with a vengeance. Funny how the term “virus” and “computer” in the same sentence now and let it something positive. Let us start with this to give a definition of viral marketing, followed by some examples. Wikipedia defines viral marketing or viral advertising as “marketing techniques that utilize already existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as sales products) through self-replicating viral processes similar to the distribution of diseases and viruses. “Basically, this means that the advertising in the form of word-of-mouth. People (or dislike), as a product, service or other item and then tell others. The concept itself is not new, but their online application takes a new meaning to people’s ability to communicate now with thousands of people in a matter of seconds.

One of the most common forms of viral marketing has become the downloading of video content. You will see this all the time like a sweet or funny video millions of views on a site like YouTube can get. Companies soon discovered that this form of advertising can be just as effective, if not perhaps even more effective than TV ads. At least it is much cheaper. We have all received e-mails in the past from a friend who saw a funny video, or a joke or a picture online and then send them all in their address book. It is also viral marketing, albeit in a spontaneous and not planned in advance.

Of course, there may be some negative consequences of this phenomenon. If someone does not like your product, service, etc. .. It is very easy to get a viral campaign, which is negative start.

Adware – A Definition For Everyone


Spyware comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, each with a separate purpose – to some degree. Most people simply think of spyware as something unique and that spyware explains the various online threats may occur. Alas spyware is far more complex than that.

One of the most common types of spyware is what known as adware. These are small software that is downloaded to your computer or home business on the Internet. Usually that means the download process you have chosen to transfer a file on your computer. It is not so in the case of adware – these files are downloaded to your computer without your consent% to 99% of the time. Apple Mac users can benefit from the fact that most adware is designed to focus only on Microsoft Windows-based attacks are increasing – even though the changes all the time.

What does Adware do? Well, after your system is infected with adware, it waits until the computer connect to the Internet. Once it detects an active Internet connection, you can start, popups, popovers, and pop-under everything from holidays to get the membership site for adults.

More disturbing than blatant advertising is the fact that adware can track your surfing habits and the internet. It can collect data listed on this page, the keywords you entered in the search engines and even what websites to buy things from you. Once this information has been collected it was then to direct marketers who bombard you with junk mail and carry ads sold. (more…)
